Job Title: Assistant Financial Controller
Duties: Contract for 6 Months finishing 28th February 09. The Cafe Royal is closing on 22nd December 08 after 140 years of business. I produce the Monthly report and work closely with the head office to ensure all balance sheets are reconciled for closure and all accounts receivable has been collected. I am also responsible for ensuring all finance areas are working smoothly to the required Starwood standard, and ongoing reports are initiated, produced and reported online to Starwood.
May 04 - June 08 LANGHAM HOTEL, LONDON & PASADENA ( USA )
Job Title: Management Accountant
Duties: Supervising a team of 13 people (directly 8 and Indirectly 5). Working closely with the Financial Controller and the Assistant Financial Controller on a daily basis and producing Month End Reports. Directly involved with change management and rebranding during the transition from the Hilton to the Langham Hotel in London. Ensuring all staff were operating at the required standard through leading performance management and monitoring. Reconciliation Project of GBP 53 Million on Hotel Renovation.
Most recently working for The Langham International Group in USA for 3 months assisting the transition from a former Ritz Carlton venue to the Langham Hungtingon Hotel & Spa, Passadena, California. Including setting up systems for audit control, bank reconciliation and smooth transfer from Fidelio front office system to Opera.
My duties involved :
-Reviewing the Daily Revenue Report;
-Bank Reconciliation;
-Supervising the Account Payable , Income Audit and General Cashier sections. Ensuring the smooth running of all sections within Finance, including advice and support on system operation and problem solving;
-Taking a lead in developing good team spirit and motivating colleagues to achieve efficient and effective performance;
-Liaising effectively with all other departments and building strong relations with key staff;
-Processing all the accruals relating to payroll, utilities, food and beverage and any other expenses;
-Review the P&L with the Finance Manager and the Finance Directors, and completing reports within deadline;
-Reconcile the Renovation Project (£53 Millions) in London for Head Office in Hong-Kong
